What the job is actually like

The plant belongs to us
Owned machines get serviced, because the repair bill lands on us either way. Nobody will ask you to nurse a tired hired excavator through one more month until the hire period runs out.

Postings measured in years
A highway package runs eighteen months to three years. Long enough to learn the ground, bring your family across, and stop counting weeks.

Ten states, or just the one
Manipur to Karnataka is the spread. Want to stay within reach of Churu? That work exists. Want the far postings? There are more of those than there are people volunteering.

Wages on the same date every month
Nothing clever to add. Plenty of firms in this trade still cannot manage it, which is why it is worth saying.

Safety that costs us production
Licensed shotfirers, marked exclusion zones, vibration monitoring. If the safety officer calls a shot off, the shot does not happen, and no one upstairs reverses it.

You follow the material all the way
Face, hopper, stockpile, weighbridge, road head. Stay a few years and you will understand mining, crushing and dispatch as one job, which is rarer in this trade than it should be.

Drilling the pattern a blast design calls for, on compressor-fed machines, and getting the depths right.

Exclusion zones on shot days, guarding on the plant, and the standing to halt work. Nobody here will talk you out of using it.
